BOOK A WINE TASTING
You’ve had Bordeaux. Now try Japan.
Imagine this: you and your friends, gathered somewhere comfortable — your home, an Airbnb, your office. You’re tasting wines you’ve never heard of, from vineyards you didn’t know existed. I tell you the stories behind each bottle. You leave with a whole new perspective on wine.
This is what I do — and Japan is my specialty.
Japanese wine imports in France are rare. Most of these bottles won’t be in any wine shop near you. This tasting may be the only way to try them.
From casual wine nights to more structured corporate tastings, I’ll customize everything to match your group’s energy and needs. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just gathering the crew, my goal is to make it fun, thoughtful, and easy to enjoy — with good wine at the heart of it all.
What’s included in every tasting :
- A curated selection of Japanese wines, hand-picked and hard to source in France
- Stories, terroir, the “why Japan matters” context
- A relaxed approach — no jargon, no performance
- Light food pairings
- Hosted in French, English, or German
The formulas
🍷 ESCALE
3 Japanese wines · 6 guests minimum · 80€/person
Your first stop in the world of Japanese wine.
Three bottles. Three stories. Three moments of genuine surprise.
I select wines that represent the best entry points into Japanese viticulture — approachable, fascinating, and completely unlike anything you’ve tasted before. Each bottle has been chosen with intention : Japanese wine imports in France are scarce, and nothing arrives on your table by accident.
We’ll explore what makes Japanese wine unique : the climate challenges, the philosophy behind the craft, the producers quietly building something extraordinary. No prior knowledge needed — just curiosity and good company.
Perfect for a dinner party, a birthday, a team evening, or pure curiosity.
⭐ VOYAGE (most popular)
5 Japanese wines · 6 guests minimum · 120€/person
This is the full journey.
Five wines, carefully structured to take you deeper into what Japanese viticulture really means. Each glass tells a different chapter of the story — different grapes, different philosophies, different expressions of a country that approaches winemaking like few others in the world.
We’ll explore the history, the producers who are changing the conversation, and why Japan has become the most exciting wine country most people have never explored. You’ll leave with a real understanding — and a list of bottles you’ll want to find again.
The session I’m most proud of. Ideal for wine lovers ready to go further.
🌏 EXPÉDITION
5 Japanese wines · No minimum · 550€ flat rate
An experience built entirely around you.
This is for people who want something truly personal. A couple celebrating a milestone. A solo enthusiast ready for a deep dive. A very small group that wants to go further than any group session allows.
I design the selection, the narrative, and the pace around your knowledge, your taste, and your curiosity. Every bottle is chosen with a specific intention — to surprise you, to challenge something you thought you knew, or simply to show you what Japanese wine can be at its best.
Also available as an exceptional gift. Contact me to design your session.
Why book with me?
I’ve been sourcing and studying Japanese wines for half a decade. I travel to Japan regularly, taste widely, and have built relationships with the importers bringing these bottles into France. When supply is limited — and it always is — I know where to look.
“It was amazing — I loved it. I was honestly surprised to see that France isn’t the only wine-producing country (as they like to believe). It’s so fun and beautiful to discover what other countries have to offer. Thank you for your passion, and your warm way of sharing your knowledge.” – Lilou
“Thank you so much Diane for such an informative and passionate moment. Now I finally know another country that makes great wine.” – Laura
“I’ve joined several tastings with Diane and they’re always a success — great setting, great energy. She shares beautiful, well-crafted materials. Foreign wines were new to me and I’ve learned so much thanks to her. Now I know I love Austrian red grapes. Thank you Diane!” – Emmylou

Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly happens during a tasting?
You gather a group of friends, colleagues, or family — at home, at a venue, or wherever feels right. I arrive with the wines, the glasses, and the stories. We taste together, I guide you through each bottle — the region, the producer, the philosophy — and we talk. It’s structured enough to be informative, relaxed enough to feel like a good evening.
Where do you host tastings?
I’m based in Normandy and travel regularly to Paris and London. Once a year, I also host tastings in Tokyo during my annual trip.
Travel is free within a 10 km radius of my base. Beyond that, travel costs apply for private bookings — and are always included in the quote for corporate events.
Not sure if your location works? Drop me a message and we’ll figure it out.
Do I need to know anything about wine?
Nothing at all. Curiosity is the only requirement. I adapt the session to your group — whether you’re complete beginners or seasoned wine lovers who’ve never explored Japan.
Why Japanese wine specifically?
Because almost no one in France knows it exists — and the people who discover it are always surprised. Japanese winemakers approach viticulture with a precision and philosophy that produces wines unlike anything from Europe. And because these bottles are genuinely rare in France, a tasting with me may be your only real opportunity to try them.
How do you choose the wines?
Japanese wine imports in France are scarce and unpredictable. I work with the importers who bring these bottles into the country, and I select each wine with a specific intention — to surprise you, to tell a story, to show a different facet of what Japan produces. Nothing arrives on your table by accident.
What’s the difference between the three formulas?
Escale (80€/person) is your entry point — three wines, the essential context, perfect for a first discovery. Voyage (120€/person) goes further — five wines, a more structured journey through Japanese viticulture, for people ready to go deeper. Expédition (550€ flat) is fully private and bespoke — designed around you, your knowledge, and your curiosity. No minimum group size.
What’s the minimum group size?
For Escale and Voyage, the minimum is 6 people. For Expédition, there’s no minimum — it’s designed for couples, solo enthusiasts, or very small groups who want something personal.
Can I book a tasting as a gift?
Yes — Expédition in particular works beautifully as a gift for someone who appreciates wine, travel, or both. Get in touch and I’ll help you put something together.
